Wait everything?
Rob genuinely lost on a "coinflip" of his internet career a dozen+ times
backing the wrong horse, being too early at something, giving up and moving on to different projects/sites
That's actually really unfortunate
he was a front page Twitch streamer in the begining, and gave that up to have his own site
he chose blip over YouTube
he stopped doing Minecraft before it had its huge surge in popularity
he bet on Mindcrack with PMC, and then abandoned them overa EULA that never came
I said it earlier today, so this is me just quoting myself
There's this weird divide between Rob's mistakes caused by drugs/mental illness, mistakes caused by his ego, and mistakes caused by bad luck
but when he had his meltdown, and started demanding $300k/year from his fans
part of that was 100% resentment over the fact that people all around him made it big, despite doing the same things he'd been doing (and in some cases helped them do)
and yet he's barely scraping by, overworking himself to get S4 of Urealms ready
and saw his numbers dropping again, like they always did as his projects unsustainably wound themselves down
Buffalo wizards was another one
he was both too early and too late
the first wave of internet groups did really well, the wave that came after him did really well
but the 1-2 years he spent focusing on that, trying to make it work with his group
really slowed/stopped his growth
and he focused away from Twitch, at a time when Twitch was blowing up

the yogscast does it still and I still enjoy their stuff but they have been stagnating for like 10 years
Was it slow because most of the group had lives/jobs outside the group/content creation? Like how mindcrack were already minecrafters
I think you could chalk it up to a lot of different things
Justin has talked about Rob's advice being bad (which I agree with), he also wasn't really a good manager
varying levels of interest in going full-time, audience size, content diversity, personality fits, etc.
Overall though, it took Rob's attention away from doing projects, which is what he excelled at (and what had a chance of going viral)
and he also stopped trying to grow as a Twitch streamer, which would have been the sound career move at the time
his numbers were great
but it was 1 stream/week, and he flaked out a lot once BufWiz was up and going
his general stream number, like the random Sims stream where he'd get 10k
it's crazy he didn't see that, and try to double down streaming
I think a big part was he really didn't like Twitch as a company, but idk, maybe it was less obvious at the time how lucrative it could have been
though like REgi said, he did shit all to monetize it

It was borne out of confusion with TB confusing Rob with Danny Vorhez (Rob's partner for the Unforgotten Realms cartoon) I believe TB reached out regarding a WoW collab and (since Rob and Danny had broken up at that point) it was a disjointed mess and TB wrote them off.
Rob was into starcraft during the same time TotalBiscuit ran his team Axiom, and they ended up clearing the air at some point via fans donating during some random Polaris podcast episode.
I'm forgetting the exact piece of what the TB collab/project was, it'll come to me at some point.
Rob was trying to get into SC2 casting at one point, and was getting blackballed by TB which was when TB talked about this
