I had the wierdest dream. I dreamt I went to a conveniant store to ask for a job. And the guy working there refused to give me a job because he thought I was Indian (and he didn't trust indians). Now, I have nothing against people who are racist against indians. It just perplexed me that he thought I was Indian (I usually get mistaken for Italian). But also: who'd ever heard of a conveniant store owner that refuses to hire Indians?

People that say that you shouldn't leave the freezer door open because it will overload the motor are full of shit The real reason you shouldn't leave the freezer door open is that the freezer quickly develops icy layers, overwhelming all your cardboard boxes, and then you can't close the top-of-the-fridge-freezer-door because it ices over where the door is supposed to close

My buddy who works at Verizon has to call overseas tech support sometimes and in the past weeks, they stopped having Indian accents. Turns out, Verizon's using AI to remove the Indian accent because people find Indians so untrustworthy that customers immediately hang up on them. So... good luck with incoming Indian scammers with American accents.

I think retail has conditioned people to abuse the systems, which is why you want *some* friction But I feel like none of this really needs to exist anymore, and if it does your business is likely confusing/exploititve on-purpose
