apparently projecting from a sphere to a cylinder is area preserving, so this might be straightforward if computing the area of the projected 4-chord shape on the resulting plane isn't too difficult

I don't think I am yet to have a TA who has been able to successfully grade code or pseudocode. If it is not automatic there is always some issue.

when half the students submit python that uses libraries that are incompatible with modern numpy I just have to skip it

this is more like there are TAs that just can't do anything besides check for if the answer has stuff from the example solution or not.

my favorite was in my first or second undergrad c++ course i had a TA who couldn't read an array reverse algorithm

and then the professor had to regrade all of our test manually because the other TAs were about as bad apparently

grading is really boring and time consuming so looking for familiar intermediate steps makes sense

but not knowing an algorithm in an undergrad CS course is really bad

I definitely get being predisopsed to mark down stuff that you don't immediately recognize esp when a lot of the stuff you are getting is obviously BS or chatgpt

but it feels more to me like a lot of times it is just people who have gone through the motions forever without really learning stuff, probably more of a problem at these shitter schools i'm going to
