i have no idea what meaning or concepts are being conveyed in these messages
oof
I guess we'll never know
that does not work that way
it would only work that way if there were a very large amount of megans and robs
making a large number of children
Replying to sudo TPK #sylfar Realistically? Or theoretically? Because the law of truly large numbers says the child could be the greatest genius to ever grace the earth.
large numbers or small numbers are fake
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak that does not work that way
That's why I said theoretically, not realistically.
but, thats not even theoretically how the law of large numbers works
I think that is a false way of using that principle. Its meaningless to say "they could be X" if the law of large numbers guarantees X, because all the law tells you is given enough sources of data, it will occure
I googled the law of truly large numbers though, and that does not go with what it says
law of truly large numbers makes mathematical sense the way that text say sit
yeah but thats different
then what you said
if you said "two tards could make a genius, statistically" I would not disagree, but using the law of truly large numbers to justify how rob and megan could make a genius kid, is falacious
"Realistically? Or theoretically? Because the law of truly large numbers says the child could be the greatest genius to ever grace the earth."
Saying that given enough samples - this does not have to be enough children of Rob and Megan, just children of two idiots - the law of truly large numbers would suggest that eventually, a pair of those idiots, eventually, would be more and more likely to conceive a genius. Rob and Megan could be that pair, not will.
Sure, but so could literally anyone, so what you said is meaningless
is what I am getting at

No shit, I never argued anything different.
"the law of truly large numbers says the child could be the greatest genius to ever grace the earth." That has nothing to do with the law of truly large numbers
the law of truly large numbers says that such a child will, given enough children, be born, general statistics says that rob and megan could sire a genius
I did, you are wrong.
I just did. The law of truly large numbers says nothing about the fact that rob and megan could be the ones to have a genius kid despite being retards themselves. General statistics and probability does. The law of truly large numbers just says that with certainty, with enough samples of retard parents, a genius kid will be born of two retards
essentially I am saying you cited the wrong statistical principle for your claim
Yeah that was all I was getting at
No worries.
I was just confused as to how it applied, because I have done a fair bit of statistics and probability in my undergrad, and that seemed to conflict with my understanding of the law of truly large numbers.

The person straight up said, "Nigga, I don't have any power here; you have to talk to your professors, because THAT'S HOW UNI WORKS. If they won't work with you because you can't get to class for two weeks, there ain't SHIT I can do, so you might as well drop the classes so it doesn't reflect poorly on you."
