Yeah I agree with this too. If you have something you really like and you create something specifically for yourself that you would enjoy, I think there's generally going to be an audience for it as long as you're passionate about it.

botw is a good enough sandbox, that it carries an entire game but its not actually very developed beyond that, and I don't think they've found a magic bullet that solves it simply by expanding the options they give you in the sandbox

I think improving botw is fairly east, you just need to remove climbing, and add back in permanant items that unlock the ability to do new things to the world

I'd take botw in a different direction, I'd rather they give you more things you can change/influence in the world, and build the game around that chain-reactions and cascading changes, and give Link abilties/items based on the world state
