I think Trump has gone about it in a dumb way, but the reality is you have two common countries with an arbitrary border that already means nothing to everyone in the North, and providing economic incentives to both sides to fold Canada into the USA will just eventually make too much sense not to do

Everyone our age wants the opportunities presented by some sort of common economic/schengen zone at a minimum, and full integration would likely just be better all around, but we'll see how long it takes
