yeah, idk if he's even bothering with the DvZ meta rp stuff he was doing before
It's now just an rp sesh he does for about an hour on-stream
I suppose burning bridges with Nisovin was not the best move in terms of keeping a project largely using Nisovin's work in working order

I don't think his heart's really been into any of the series/projects he's done
GTA roleplay is what he enjoyed doing the most, but after he lost that friend group (twice) idk if he's really bounced back
He's got some people in his Discord who will show up to play Marvel Rivals or Dead by Daylight
occasionally goofing around in Minecraft or streaming pokemon feels more like a way to not completely shut the content creation door, even if he's 99% moved on

Honestly, a stand alone game similar to but legally distinct from DvZ would probably kill in today's game market.

I suppose that depends on the person. For some any amount of voxels dooms a game to being called Minecraft, e.g. Terraria. But I think that right there would probably be distinct enough that most gamers wouldn't call it a MC clone

So, I also don't watch them fully, but when I upload vods I spot-check them
And I noticed that for some reason Pokemon seems to get Rob very worked up
He'll have moments where he very much seems to be transported back to 2014
And I can't tell how much is brain fog, a decade past and Rob can't remember Pokemon streams and is just acting excited/amped for the stream
And how much is genuinely a "this was the peak of my life" energy for Rob. Full nostalgia, memories came flooding back sorta thing
It's not a question I can come to a conclusion on from just watching bits and pieces
So if anyone's actually been watching, I'm curious what your take is

manic schitzo shit aside, he is sorta right when he used to harp on his whole "speed is the best meme" thing
he built his own database to index his media for on-screen pop-ups to make sure he could trigger them faster than doing OBS scenes
his on-the-fly audio loops with his mixer
two foot pedals and extra actual stream buttons (rather than just having a token streamdeck on your desk you never use)
and (though I fucking hate his camera flipping) he's actually hitting his intended timing down to an insane degree
I can't pull the clip (and don't care to) but he essentially wrote his own shorthand for his media library
when he "searches" for a song, it's intentional
Rob's just weirdly always been a god of joke timing
and it's rare for any streamer to put in the work to develop that skill
