I thought there was a time when rob had to make specific updates to the game just because people would start a game and whoever became monsters didn’t want to be monsters and then would leave. Which made it like 1 zombie versus the server. Which I think in one of his old videos he had this experience and resummoned the dragon to kill more dwarfs because everyone he killed initially all left
Replying to LadyLilina #ladylilina The issue with dwarves winning is that it makes playing as a monster suck. I guarantee people would just leave after dying in that gamemode.
even if they don't explicitly leave, it's hard to imagine they wouldn't phone it in and allow the game to end faster
especially since you want the dwarves to win to progress the story

You're correct, but then he over-corrected later and people began killing themselves to become a monster because playing a dwarf sucked.
so yeah, I was only remembering later DvZ, not earlier.

he added coward points to the 24/7 servers that penalized you greatly for leaving too many games

I feel like people asked for this a few years ago and he called them idiots for it.

Coward points only made you more likely to plague that was the only penalty which was the very reason they left games early to begin with.

Interesting to look back on both how much and how little has changed since then
Credit to him for sticking with LoM even if it's just for his small core Discord group, they seem to like the roleplay nights they do

imo, Rob's pretty much done with content creation, no desire and financially not enough to sustain himself
He likes doing pick-up roleplay games, so maintaining LoM makes sense, and when he wants to relax and rp with a small group he has the 10-20 people necessary to do that in his server
He does still stream 2-4 times/month, but I think that's more of a buisness decision since there are still a couple people who will drop money on him when he does, not a ton, but a couple hundred dollars, maybe $1000/month total, isn't nothing

Twitch vod auto-deletion is such a pain, you have to catch it right when it happens, and for drama/politics stuff, most of them are on-top-of manually deleting it pretty much immediately after the stream ends
so no, sadly I don't have it
imo, I think most of the midcrackers hold a weird grudge against Guude, I in no way think Guude did an even passable job salvaging Mindcrack as it started to trend downward
but idk, I'm somewhat sympathetic to the "old man loses control of thing he barely understands" angle
