I was trying to figure out how the automated shipping lanes and fuel depots worked
turns out, they don't
I never really played much No Mans Sky
but I'm ready to try their next game
I feel like they've had time to nail the whole space base building thing
I'd like to see a non Dwarf Fortress/Rimworld style game try to do that
yeah, Sean Murray better not do it again
we've all begun to trust him again
I think we'd all be ok with lynching the Cube World guy
do you like the Factorio/Satisfactory style games Fear?
or is that too much autism
I never gave Factorio a shot, until a friend got it for me as a gift
always seemed like you'd just spaghetti everything forever
but when you come up with systems to automate everything, it's weirdly satisfying
plus you can build trains
idk if I'm going to play the DLC he's working on, because ngl it looks like too much
in terms of deep, deep tech trees
I just don't understand the dev at this point
He burnt any possible good will I could have for him
I bought the alpha, had a ton of fun with it, will never play it or any future version again
for not wanting to be a celebrity, he does literally everything possible to garner attention
and yeah, I feel like if he walked away after failing, and came back doing LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE
I wouldn't care as much
Alpha is not a complete game, but its nostalgic to me
he did nothing for ~5 years
I wonder if he squandered the money
he blew up, but it was early early
so it's not like some modern indie devs who blow up, and can pocket $20M
if I had to guess, he probably made low single digit millions
which is a lot, but after 10 years probably knows it could have been a lot more
and oh wow, I had not seen the direction he was going with the game now
it's got really aggressive UE5 lighting
the same kind you see on AAA tech demos
and those AI upscaling projects
well this will be interesting to follow in 10 years, like you said
