I think it was more the focus changed from being funny to telling a story
same problem modern Rob had with his GTA rp and his meta roleplay
he gave up on being funny
Rob is/was a top-tier comedian
but yeah, he hated being seen that way, and wanted to be some weird hybrid storyteller/roleplayer/producer thing
Trouble in Terrorist town really showed off Robs Comedian side
I think the only thing he released before urealms season 3 that was off what the buisness man meme
that is the only thing I watched thinking "this is not funny"
even during urealms season 3, I liked the divinity 2 salazar stuff

Rob had the problem a lot of narrative shows had/ have of stakes escalation, which would not have been a problem if it was still a comedy focused show by season 3
but flipping from comedy focused to narrative focused made that problem an issue
Rick and morty kind of had a similar problem to urealms season 3 in its season 3 too though
where they flipped to trying to tell a grand narrative more than just being wacky adventures
which is why I stopped watching and never finished season 3
Its kind of the fate of comedy focused things where the creator gets their head stuck up their ass and thinks that they are a great writer with a story to be told
R&M kind of got back to what used to make them good
