It was so plainly illegal in Virginia, and done in such a hilarious way

That I had every confidence this is the way the court would rule
Just kind of crazy in either case it was close
That + the fact they literally called it jerrymandering
It was something along the lines of "suspend the Virginia constitution and the bipartisan redistricting committee to implement temporary districts to enforce voting fairness"
Yeah I remember the wording being posted when the vote happened
it was so fucked
Yep, Max is right
Question: Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia's standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?
There was a bunch of other legal nonsense they had on the ballot to, to justify why it was even legal to amend the state constitution without a supermajority
The entire thing broke the state constitution 3 different ways
Obama literally campaigning for jerrymandering was also so perfectly on-point for him
Most on a special election ever
~$100M total
I think 2026 will be razer thin margins
But Democrats need to win desperately
So they're doing anything in their oower
And Virginia is going to backfire on them, because it spooked every other normal state
That Democrats would win a 1 seat majority, and have the balls to try to completely fuck the state map
North Virginia has the most insane Trump Derangement syndrome, despite a lot of it leaning conservative
Yeah, it's honestly scary for normal states that don't have the same protections that Virginia has
And you can't undo that sort of fuckery easily either
Anyway, happy for the win today
