DC built a $10B metro line near me
and it gets 600 total riders/day
it's a vanity project
cities want the shiny monorail
they don't want to use it
Yeah we've discussed this in vc when comparing to my cities lrt, that gets more than that per hour
Seattle is infatuated with their iconic streetcars and trams
but other than the one they run 100m up and down a tourist street for Instagram photo ops
the actual streetcars are avoided, except by schitzos and homeless
