My brother, when he was in his retard school for a brief stint at 13/14, had a public bus he could have taken home
but we had him take an uber every day instead, because normal people don't take the bus

crazy cultural issue
even old people around here, will have private shuttles for their housing complexes, rather than using public transit
it's not a rich vs poor thing either
if you have $2000, you get a car
everyone has a car
You could not get a car for 2k here
if you don't, something is wrong with you
no I know this is an America only thing
I don't hate the concept of public transit, but because a car is required in our society, there's no reason for public transit to exist. Full stop.
With how the US is set up, I agree
and again, ther eare execeptions
seems like a waste to set up trams etc that normal people won't use
college towns and such, where it's basically a student bus, but is *technically* public
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak seems like a waste to set up trams etc that normal people won't use
Max and I or Regi and I were talking about this stat
DC built a $10B metro line near me
and it gets 600 total riders/day
it's a vanity project
cities want the shiny monorail
they don't want to use it
Yeah we've discussed this in vc when comparing to my cities lrt, that gets more than that per hour
Seattle is infatuated with their iconic streetcars and trams
but other than the one they run 100m up and down a tourist street for Instagram photo ops
the actual streetcars are avoided, except by schitzos and homeless
thats a problem
Polu, doesn't your city have the Arch, just use that for transit
Spooky would you be in favour of big city wide arch sky bridges from one side of town to the other
yeah Pika
ngl, even if it sounded like I was negative
I like retarded city vanity projects
I like esoteric city art they put up that no one thinks looks good and it just becomes a landmark
historical statues and esoteric art
nothing in-between
like the Kitchener Intestine statue
When I travel, I stop at a lot of statue gardens
ngl, people suck at making statues
it's kind of shocking
Jesus lived there
surely

I wandered around here for a while
its all stuff like this
I've been to some good ones, but yeah they're only good once
and this one in particular was shockingly bad
despit ebeing massive and well-funded
We have a building like that, but we don't have those cool terraces on each floor
I like yours better
That is true, it still blows my mind how big a percentage of your population is black people
I didn't realize it was as large as it was
until we talked about it a few years back
I always assumed it was like 5%
not 15%
