Israel needs the US to force a peace, because they were not in a position to carry out their initial operational aims and risked overextending

I can see that. Truthfully the exchanges have felt so uneventful that if the fighting ended right now the whole conflict would seem pointless. Im not trusting any figures of casualty or whats been destroyed until dust settles though so maybe thats my fault.

Iran traded really well with the missile lobbing, the biggest economic dmg inflicted on either side was some Iranian oilfields getting hit, but both sides probably have received similar levels of dmg

doesn't israel have that missile interception system?
They have several. Iron dome I think is the most famous but thats for short range missiles and artillery.
