the new liberal guy is A -not Trudeau, and B - immediately got rid of the carbon tax, which was the cons main public rallying cry against the libs the cons were going with
now the cons have realistically nothing, are viewed as a weak party when it comes to opposing the US taking us over, and have not pivoted to anything since Trudeau stepped down
I know the americans here really do not get that Canadian public sentiment is at an all time patriotic high, beyond the likes I have ever seen in my life, and the party that is the hardest against the US right now (the liberals), is likely going to win
He is liked because he is not Trudeau
Canada needs to go back towards center left (by canadian standards) instead of center left but hard pandering for social issues no one gives a shit about
I think leaving Canada to go work for the British is hardly seen as an issue as opposed to almost any other country he could've done that for
