Spooky Phijkchu politics
I think a majority of people can easily carry out acts of violence, but just choose not to his reason was probably something simple, and he's from a low-trust society where you just act on your impulses because there's nothing more to life than that
Dialga politics
Anyone whose not ill or is just on the lower end of mental illness would not just take action to end someones life for some random whim
Spooky Phijkchu politics
here, I'll restate what I think to be clear: I think if you look at someone who does something bad, and conclude they're "mentally ill", at some level it's absolving them of some amount of responsibility If it's not possible to do something bad, without being "mentally ill" then I think the term is basically meaningless, because the term necessarilly then includes everyone
Dialga politics
people can do malicious action via circumstance and not be mentally ill. a more extreme example could be a guy taking revenge against someone who killed someone they knew/loved. thats not ilness that's a valid motivation driven by anger/grief
Dialga politics
scientifically though people do have imbalances that cause them to act in different ways, that you can't say isnt mental illness cuz you dont think it is

Replying to Dialga #god_of_time
if you want you could say No action is bad or evil because "bad and evil" are constructed ideas
I'm not trying to argue, because I think I'm just reiterating my last point but if bad == mentally ill, then yes the terms are meaningless
(Not Spooky) Spark Dragon politics
Spooky is right, some people have zero impulse control and zero forethought and do terrible things. That is not mental illness it’s poor decision making and thinking skills. Half these people are brain rotted and do not care about anything other than themselves.
Phijkchu_Pikachu politics
I think mentally deficient is a better term. Ill implies some sort of sickness, whereas some people are just wired to not be cspable of higher level consideration needed to conclude acting on every impulse is not worth it
