If it's not real, it's probably being pushed by Gretchen Whitmer (MI Governor)
who has been trying to fundraise off of this to raise her profile

The ones I feel sorry for are my administrative law colleagues who built their courses and careers around the intricacies of Chevron deference.
twitter.comI feel like Chevron deference was the only thing that made the government seem like it was sorta working
most of the bad 3-letter orgs will continue to do their thing regardless (ATF overstepping will not change based on this imo)
But the rest are going to be absolutely neutered, as they now need to wait for congress
which is good, but our system is so fucked that I think simple things are going to break
I just don't think that first part is going to happen, regardless of the next election it's another 4 years of deadlock at minimum
I don't think deadlock is always bad mind you, but I'd say rn there's probably a need for more policy than we've been getting

🚨🚨BREAKING: The Supreme Court has sided with President Trump, ruling that presidents cannot be held criminally liable for official actions of government and delivering a nuke to Jack Smith’s January 6 indictment. 6-3 decision
twitter.comweird timing to release this
Drastically increase the number of seats in congress (by setting a population cap on each district)
would drive down campaign spending and reduce the celebrity factor of being in congress
I go back and forth on term limits for the Senate, Age limits in general as well I can go either way on
Virginia does a sequential term limit on Governors, which would be similar to limiting the Senate to 1, 6-year term
I mean, they'd just expand it to a multi-floor chamber, like every other legislature has
I think even with term limits, it's hard to break up the upper legislature class in the Senate
They are all going to be political careerists, no matter what you do, and I think preventing them from overt insider trading and corruption is disconnected from term limits mostly
List of legislatures by number of members
This is a list of legislatures by number of members. Non-sovereign entities and unrecognized states are marked in italics.
en.wikipedia.orgI recognize that things break down with the numbers we're looking at
but 1 congressman for ~750k people
seems kind of misaligned
I'd say 1000 to have a nice even number
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/435-representatives/
What If The House Of Representatives Had More Than 435 Seats?
See how adding more seats to the U.S. House makes Congress more representative
projects.fivethirtyeight.comwhatever number we pick is arbitrary, I'd rather cap district size
"a person should at most represent XXX people"
any improvement is good though, so yeah even if we just doubled 435
George Washington and James Madison proposed an amendment to the constitution that would have capped it at 1 : 50,000
But only 10/13 states ratified it
so it was 1 short
Congressional Apportionment Amendment
The Congressional Apportionment Amendment (originally titled Article the First) is a proposed amendment to the United States Constitution that addresses the number of seats in the House of Representatives. It was proposed by Congress on September 25, 1789, but was never ratified by the requisite number of state legislatures. As Congress did not ...
en.wikipedia.org50k would have probably risen over time, but I kind of suspect it would have settled around 100k
that guy who got the 27th amendment added (which was tabled alongside this one) considered it
List of amendments to the Constitution of the United States
Thirty-three amendments to the Constitution of the United States have been proposed by the United States Congress and sent to the states for ratification since the Constitution was put into operation on March 4, 1789. Twenty-seven of those, having been ratified by the requisite number of states, are part of the Constitution. The first ten amendm...
en.wikipedia.orgI didn't realize there were 6 of these
rest are later adds to the partially ratified list

Reddit keeps having people post essays about how great it will be when dark brandon kills trump and 5/9ths of the supreme court because of the new ruling
I wonder how many billions Biden wasted on letting people know it gets hot in the summer
