Israel is slowly stealing whats left of Palestine. The cycle is essentially, Palestine launches an attack on Israel, Israel retaliates and bombs the shit out of Palestine, Palestine is left worse off than it started, because Israel just beat Palestine into submission it continues to push in and take more land. This is not really a reason to support either, Palestine keeps giving the Jews justification to do it by attacking, kidnapping, and raping Israelis, and Israel keeps slowly taking over land in Palestine and kicking them out which is why the Palestinians mostly support Hamas despite him being a militant because they hate Israel for taking their land.

So the majority of Palestinians want the guy who wants to murder all the jews because the jews keep fucking with them and stealing their land, he launches attacks to murder a bunch of jews, and Israel obviously mad about the fact that a bunch of jews got murdered bomb the shit out of them

This is why the 2 state solution is a meme, both because both parties actively want the land, but also because at this point there is multi generational hatred

The Jews kind of want to just push them all out, but all the surrounding countries knowing that this is what they want to do are rufusing to take any of them, which kind of leaves Israel with the options of 1- Give up the land grab (they will not do this) 2- Slowly kill off the Palestinians every time they are given an excuss to do so by Hamas
