it's so funny that gamefreak is the patent villain

I just found it so weird, since Gamefreaks name was attached to it and it was given the expectation of a new series from "The Pokemon Guys"

only to be such a flop

it makes sense due to the mechanic patents

total speculation, but I think once it became clear it was not going to come together, they put some distance between themselves and the game

I don't think Gamefreak is capable of making anything competent

Its funny that my favourite pokemon game was not made by them

well, not funny, moreso telling

Anyways, its a shame pokemon will never flop so they are never forced to do better

I'll sorta take the other side, I think it should be easier for them to do it not because of the infinite money or w/e, but because there's zero reason for them to make real games

So like Valve, when some of their lead devs get inspired to make something, it ends up being good

Valve is always so funny to me. Highly paying a small group of very talented people, but not forcing them to work on anything in particular so when they eventually manage to make something its good, but you never expect them to make something

Usually youd expect them to make more skins to support their huge live service games

But outsourcing 90% of the work to your community is actually way easier

This was actually all I experienced during my developmental years

Fire Emblem FW had reviews drop today

also. maybe we knew this but the game is structured around a level select

which was is a positive improvement compared to what I was expecting

each of the characters has their own chapters (which comprise of 1-5 missions), and you choose which chapter to do after completing the last, character agnostic

(you can also apparently pause chapters and swap to other ones, then swap back later)

I figured that would be the case personally. It makes sense that they want you to see every chapter/every story from each character's perspective in order to unlock them for the "true fight"

Nightreign ended up being pretty fun, though a little surprised the Switch one is more pvp focused

What convinces me more is that shortly before I was shared this I had a Terranigma dream. I dreamt that there was an alternate ending where if you tell Light Side Elle that you like her more than Dark Side Elle, then after you beet the final boss you can walk outside Crysta's gate, go down the Hole and then the game transitions to you being in Storkholm.
