Beyond the flat damage, the weapons themselves also had attributes unique to themselves
Axes got the highest damage, but the lowest hit rate
Lances get medium both
Swords get the lowest damage but highest hit rate
Swords also have more avoid bonuses and critical options in comparison
Axes always get an armor effectiveness weapon in every game
Lances almost always have a ridersbane (beastkiller in awakening/fates), and sometimes a unique effectiveness
Swords ALWAYs get wyrmslayer (being usually the only weapon type to get one) and armor effectivness (sometimes lords have rapiers that only they can use for horse effectiveness)
Axes and Lances have a 2 range attack option, but swords almost always lack this option, and instead only feature the levin sword which scales off of magic, usually the other two weapon types dont have this magic option but there's some cases where they do albeit a little rare
I think breaking helps NPCs more than the player
breaking reduces the meatgrinderness of some turns
I think there's something there, to build off of
but idk how to make the system better
