I have a theory. What separates Touhou 80% of of Otaku media is it doesn't pander to Otaku. Touhou isn't a waifu series, it has no lewd characters to pander to lonely men. Series like Blue Archive do pander to that crowd, so it attracts them.

I mean, it's kinda true? Touhou source material is incredibly NOT horny. Despite this, the fans make it horny anyway, and we all know that Touhou is mostly defined by its fanbase and fan games and such, so I'd say it's still a somewhat horny series.

1-credit-clear, it's generally an arcade term, but Touhou works with arcade logic. Just means you don't use a continue to clear the game.

Never cared for canonical ages when jerking off. There were two major turn-offs: Are they canonically married, and are they dead? (Looking at you, Selan from Lufia II). Also no robots and demons. Finding out that the girls from Girls Frontline were all robots made me extra cautious.
