That statement comes from how you can find historical accounts of the death number that were lower, so the belief is "they occasionally raise the number of deaths to make it worse"

I believe all holocaust deaths should be reported as opportunity cost to solve this issue. Report the number of dead jews as the number who died plus the hypothetical amount of jewish babies that would have been born from the original deaths, and the deaths of those childrens children, and so on

this would naturally make the number grow exponentially with time
