the server loads the max allowed distance for you

no matter your own distance

Max distance is 2

so if the server is set to 16

theres also simulation distance now

and you set yours to 2

mobs 16 chunks away

can still hit you

and find you

i think max for vanilla is 32

honestly i wish bedrock edition of minecraft wasnt utter shit

its actually way faster than java edition

and you can handle like 100+ render distance with 0 lag
