I really liked Iron Lung
Yeah it was pretty solid
@Garbage it turns out China is doing the thing I was talking to you in vc the other day
It's a Big Dumb Rocket™
uses non-solid fuel (gasoline/kerosene) and just moves really slow
trivial to build, but no one does it because unironically it's seen as "embarrassing"
it's much less attractive payload wise, but yes
^ as well as it's slow, and usually they're not vertical takeoff
the official Cold War reason was because you couldn't use the designs for ICBMs or other military use
but genuinely, it's because when comparing to other rocket launches, nobody wanted to be the country with this oversized and slow LV
since this new Chinese one is re-usable, it might make more sense, but I bet it was hard to greenlight

is this why gas is so expensive right now?
Microsoft has 3% marketshare for the record, which makes them being the first to switch to usage-based billing extra funny
The days where a $5 or even $20/month plan are worth anything are definitely coming to and end
Despite being 1st and arguably the early leader in consumer AI in 2022/2023
Microsoft just absolutely fucked themselves over by trying to force it
same thing Google is doing now, and I feel like is backfiring
they have infinite money, and are trying to force adoption where no one wants it

I've been trying to pitch that as the future of execution, hook someone up to a computer, perform a lot of theatrics while you kill them, and then have a LLM pretend to be them afterwards
everyone wants to be the ghost in the machine

I also sorta think if we froze people who have life sentences, it would accomplish the same thing
prison just doesn't make a lot of sense for sentences >10 years, and public executions aren't popular enough
exile or forced service/labor is better, but also sorta limited in the options available
