All I know is either
1) the refs fucked some call up that one side will say cost them the game
2) A receiver dropped an easy catch to win the game, forcing some last-second hail mary that the NFL thrives on
3) a kicker missed an easy kick, in order to stir more drama
I don't think the league is rigged necessarily, but I do feel like all players know at some level they're putting on a show
I think NHL is too far in that direction, but I hate the college sports version more
where the announcers talk about how vile and unacceptable any sort of taunting or fighting is
"you hate to see it" "this puts a stain on a great game" etc. etc.
