that thumbnail is a really famous photo spot
there's news crews there literally every other week now
because suddenly everyone is talking about data centres being evil
THEY USE SO MUCH WATER !!!1!1!!
Most of this is filmed from the Leesburg side (which flanks the Northern part of the centres)
I'm on the East (Sterling/Herndon) side
Ashburn is the city they're all in, and technically where my zip code resolves

but N. Virginia is imo this perfect level of density, where ~5 minutes down the road from those data centres you have unirronic horse farms
where there are multi-million dollar mansions and roadside pumpkin farms coexisting
it can't last, I'm sure this area will become hell in a generation
but when I was born and growing up, this area has a single stop-light and dirt roads
and now it's the literal top economic engine of the country
I mean, the have's are in a whole nother stratosphere
