I think an adequate definition of a sandwich which differs from my historic one is as follows:
A sandwich is anything which sandwiches something in which you can remove part of the covering without breaking the container, nor destroying the meal within
a taco you cannot seperate, a sandwich you can
you can take the top of a sandwich off
this is a reversible process
thus not broken
I can take the top of a corn dog off and put it back
a grilled cheese sandwhich made via a sandwich press (combininb the top and bottom pieces of bread) is a wrap by this definition, for the record

that is an improperly made corndog
The bottom might be a little damage but you can still put it back on the stick
you can't re-attach the breading to the meat though

because thats not the point
the point is, you have to destroy a fundamental aspect of what a corndog is to remove the container, you do not need to do that to a sandwich
I think to be a sandwich OR a wrap, you need to have the bread be around the filling. Fries have filling around bread.
