spent most of our time in soo canada. cat cafes, mall excursion, closed out some bars with the locals, and threw a party at the airbnb on the last night

got too friends living in soo mich and one friend from their so definitely will be back

the canada side is way more fun. that town has character

gonna stop in soo mich tomorrow on my way to a music fest actually

fire, inevitably I will be back in europe. whether it's traveling again with my sister or moving there who knows

my new job has locations globally, and I'm remote rn anyway. want to live in another country somewhere while I'm still young and can have fun

plus we need more people in euro timezones rn in my department

I wanna take a europe trip, my parents went on an England>France>Belgium>Netherlands trip and it sounded lovely

I’ve only been to Ireland

so I said germany, but my family says that's the worst choice. including my family that lives in austria part time now. they are the ones who have lived in czechia for a while now, so they have also been learning german now. I started learning german for work, we all were advised to study up on other languages, lots of my old parent company coworkers are multilingual. this new parent company is just a giant global company so the language learning thing still applies. that's part of the reason. it will work for my resume to have foreign experience, langues, culture etc. that's just how cybersecurity is. so my second choice is austria, but idk, I just would rather do Germany. Czechia is awesome but my family lives there already so I have reasons to travel there, not live there, plus the language is much harder. so third choice is Netherlands probably, dutch shouldn't be too hard to transition to

oh my sister wants to move to northern Italy with me, so that's an option, she was living in Italy for school spring 2023

by northern I mean like the dolomites though, or as far north as you can go

I used to take mandarin back in middle school

a woman who works for me, her entire family just lives all over the world, so she spends like half the year traveling to see people in Portugal, Italy, France, Thailand, Argentina, etc.

ours is too, in just a different kind of way

i wish any school around here offered language classes for anything that wasn't French, spanish, or navajo

and that seems pretty comfy she spends ~6 months of the year traveling, 6 months in the states

I would need to be HIGHLY motivated to learn a language, and I don't think I ever will be tbh

see that would be me, and my family. but Im too poor atm to travel . but they do live all over the world. I just do europe because that's usually the cheapest option

i want to learn japanese if i learn a language but theres no good resource and motivation is hard

I'm not good at it inately, and it's a tremendous amount of work to get good, that relies on you to care a lot as well

If I was going anywhere, netherlands is a high contender for international vacation

classic memory is asking my advisors if I could take Spanish 3 because I liked learning languages and he said no you clearly suck at spanish
