Alright pirate, the quest to devolope our own unique compression algorithm instead of using a base one that has already been tested and optimized is a go
I guess
okay need an algorithm for storing both audio and graphics data in a single archive so that redundancies across all files can be reduced for compression. however it also must be able to index and decode any single file in a not noticeable time on a shitty pc, without needing to decompress the whole archive into memory or similar things.
Store it all in memory
train one of these for the audio and graphics each and store just the encodings

Autoencoder
An autoencoder is a type of artificial neural network used to learn efficient codings of unlabeled data (unsupervised learning). An autoencoder learns two functions: an encoding function that transforms the input data, and a decoding function that recreates the input data from the encoded representation. The autoencoder learns an efficient repre...

@Spooky Phijkchu @Phijkchu_Pikachu another leak. This time in the stockroom.
So I apparently underestimated my brother, he's doing a 5-month journey through Canada
He's leaving in a week for Halifax, NS , and from there he's spending 2-4 weeks in every province
longest was somehow going to be Quebec he said
You should convince him to do the terretories too
send him xbrox's way
he is, hold on I'll post the full thing
Starting in Halifax, NS , he's hitting all the Maritimes from there, ~2 weeks total
Then 4-weeks in Quebec, staying in a couple places
2 weeks in Toronto, 2 in Winnipeg
Then he's doing a 4-week hiking/camping thing through Nunavut
Head through Yellowknife (says there's literally nothing there and he's only doing that to check it off the list) so 1-2 days
1-week each for Saskatchewan and Alberta
Then 3 weeks in Vancouver (he'll be here for Christmas/New Years),
Then he heads north for another hiking/camping thing in the Yukon and from there into Alaska
>2 weeks in Toronto
dude
if you are spending 5 months in Canada, why would you limit yourself to the worst part of Ontario
Ontario has so many great national and provincial parks
So, the other piece of this is it's not vr well planned out
I think I said in vc, he randomly quit his job, and wanted to just fuck off somewhere
and because it's Summer, I think he natrually wanted to fuck off North
Tell him the Canadian you know is encoraging he spend at most 2 days in Toronto and to hit some other cities like Kingston, Paris, etc which are older and nicer
In all these cases I kinda assume he will
Pika, you have to understand how poorly planned this is
I can tell
he knows NOTHING about Canada
4 weeks in nunavut is insane
if he hasn't killed himself and actually makes it to Toronto, I'll be lk surprised
that's more the vibe I get
a 1/5th life crisis, where he's following istagram advice to go "see the world" with no concept for wtf to do
I think he is making the mistake of "remote" means better nature to explore, when the reality is nunavut is a shithole
like Halifax, he know's NOTHING about the province
fuck, I knew more random facts about it than he did
he knew it was sorta an island, and they probably had fish there
he doesn't even really do camping/hiking shit
Only thing I could list off the top of my head for Halifax is he should check out the harbour, thats probably one of the more famous locations therw
like I've gone on more multi-day hikes than he has
and only done it 3-times
He is going to die in nunavut
parents kind of expect him to come home after a week in Nova Scotia
"once he gets this out of his system"
Honestly, just a week vacation in nova scotia is probably a decent vacation
its nice enough and on the water
it was really funny talking to him about it
and I'm telling him what the landmarks are, and what things there are to do, telling him the history of it being; essentially, New New England
compared the the US
and he 's like "I bet they have fish there"
Spooky I should try to meme prepare the equivalent 5 month trip through the US
lmao
do it
arizona desert for 4 weeks is my replacement for nunavut
good thing for all the Canadians though, because he's flying to NS, he won't have any of his guns with him, originally I thought he was going to drive up and do some off-road hunting in Nunavut
if he did, I was predicting quite the news story once he snapped
He'd get turned around at the border most likely
lol, Pika
they don't check shit at the border
they wave you through
it's not like a formal immigration checkpoint
This was under the assumption that he'd be retarded enough to just have a rifle visible in the back seat
oh, no not that dumb
Spooky if you drop everything and join him, you could meet 2 phijkchu, 1 ex phijkchu, and someone I cannot name
and like 10 of the new joiners :kappa
yeah, unirronically zero interest in that though
srry bby
Its the worst way to explore Canada, so I don't blame you
