i think i just realized the

weirdest situation of fo3s karma system

so the tenpenny tower quest

theres a bunch of people in tenpenny tower, and ghouls want to live there to

the ghouls plan is to release ferals into the tower and kill everyone

because the tenpenny people are "bad" this is good karma

but you can also convince the people living there to be ok living with ghouls

and it works out

for like a week, then the ghouls kill everyone and shove their corpses in the basement.

this is still good karma, and killing the ghouls after learning this gives you bad karma.

It's nonsense

this is why reputations was so much better

I like karma because it is like Reddit

I'm fine with there being no best case scenario

but I don't want to be called morally wrong by the game

for all intents and purposes, killing a feral ghoul or a deathclaw is a good thing. commiting genocide to ensure the future of humanity, or deciding who lives in a tower despite both being bad people

is not something so black and white
