MH:Rise came out today on Switch, and they immediately announced it's coming to PC

tbh, I'm a little surprised

Compared to World, there's no reason to play Rise imo

so making it the Switch exclusive kind of gave them a different market, so they weren't as directly competing

granted they're essentially done updating World for now, so the next gen MH will probably come out in 2023

plan was to let the switch version soak sales then let it go to steam

I thought about it a bit more, I don't know why they're porting it to Steam at all

I have no doubt in my mind that the next gen MH will launch on Steam alongside PS5/xbox, and I think 2023 looks likely for that

so Rise will be a year-later port of a mediocre title, a year prior to the next big game (which will probably have been announced before PCRise launches)

I know this is their B-team doing the port too on a new engine, so I'm not even confident in that side of things
