I have more faith in GoogleTL in 10 years than I have with self-driving cars in 50
The seconds I'm allowed to sleep behind the wheel

I really don't think self-driving cars work outside of specially designed circuits for them
under ideal conditions
I live in the 3rd densest metro area in the US
it would be a literal shitshow around here
our roads all have interpretive lanes
There's a thai place near me, where the only efficient way to get to it is to drive over a small curb
since it's in this outdoor psuedo-mall plaza thing

the whole area used to be a big traffic circle
but they re-developed it to make it more "walkable"

Of everywhere I've driven
1) Michigan in the snow with smooth tires
2) Italian side of Boston
3) Maryland side of DC
4) South-mid LA
5) Virginia side of DC
are the worst 5
honestly, driving in DC isn't bad at all
unless you do it at 8AM or 5PM
Virginia side should lose more points though for the tolls
most expensive tolls in the US
this was 2017
the answer was yes
they're low right now due to Corona
they're "adaptive"
so they keep going up as long as people pay it
and slowly decrease when people don't
idk, toll roads are frankly terrible
because it's forever, not until they recoup the investment and pay for upkeep or whatever
the Dulles Toll Road is still family owned
and earns them something stupid per year
built 30 years ago, back when this area was all dirt roads
anyway, those adaptive toll roads
are just silly
because of all the people around here making low-7 figure salaries
there's no price that's not worth it
so you'll see it hit $100 some days
well, before Corona
