Four large factions which followed old ideologies of man that slightly harkon back to economic systems and beliefs from before the war, Hansa representing america/capatilism Red line representing stalinism and communists The fourth reich representing nazis and super far right and polis representing centrists and people who think they're normal. Hansa being the absolute strongest and the commies having a large amount of people but literally no food, conflicting ideologies and etc.

but actually lmao its just all controlled by the government in a secret metro 2 and they control all the factions and make them fight wars so the remanents of the government can live in peace

I think it would be much much cooler if this factions naturally came to exist because those are faults that man will commonly fall back to

I think the factions make more sense looking at it as "in these separate but mostly similar isolated habitations, vastly different outcomes occurred"

the reasoning behind the radio silence zone is so that the government people can live in their secret metro 2 in complete safety

But theyre all constantly at war

but initially I think they were all isolated

and over time (pre Metro 1) they slowly connected

and like I said, all the Exodus lore is just dumb

I know the games were coming out alongside the books

2033 book -> 2033 game -> 2034 book (not about artoym) -> last light -> 2035 book -> metro exodus

I think the stories could fit together better in 2033 and Last Light, but I like them overall

I wishe it was Metro ---> swamp ---> Metro ---> army base ---> metro ---> forest ---> metro

instead of there being no metro other than the start and end

All of the supernatural got taken right out

magic lightning balls

and ghosts of people

the anomolies of the metro are gone

the warring factions also felt good

and the stories required you to dick around in your train car and talk with literal who NPCs

I liked the attempt at an open world

but the whole looting aspect just doesn't work

I really like how you saw people living their lives the people felt "natural"

a lot of its simple stuff but like

the fact there's people that surrender

or people that are crying, or deserters

makes metro feel different than the other just

run and shoot

the characters tell stories and talk about the state of their world

I want a game that incentivizes me to not just kill/loot everything

Metro tried at times to do that, but failed overall

metro last light tries harder than 2033

I want a story first, supported by all the other stuff

you can kill everyone and get the good ending in 2033
