Square Enix - reported Yen6.5bn loss for HD Games driven by Marvel Avengers, would not say how many sold but that volumes were 60% of plan. Implies game cost over $100m to make but only sold 3m or so. Ouch
Is this the prelude to Sony buying Squeenix
they lost $65M this quarter, but since Marvel was a live service game, they were relying on passive income for the next 2-3years off of the update cycle of the game
they're going to be in a $300M+ hole at this rate

store.steampowered.comfor anyone else who wants to be a pirate too
it's basically like
space engineers on water/land/air/""space""
the main gimmick is that everything is made from blocks so
you don't just place down "engine block" or "weapon block"
you build the engine out of the cylindiers, crank shaft, injectors, etc
and build the gun out of gauge increasers, autoloaders, and customize the shell
the main gameplay is a singleplayer campaign where you fight AI factions each with their design gimmicks
trying to get resources and design ships to win battles and eventually destroy their headquarters
i will say though it is definitely a time investment, it takes hundreds of hours to really learn what to do.
but you can do a lot of insane stuff besides just make normal vehicles too, especially if you start messing with PID's, breadboards, and lua blocks
it's possible to make ships that transform into mechs, walkers, mechanical tentacle abominations, etc
god robocraft
I liked that before they changed it
then I never played it again
pretty sure I played robocraft for like 12 hours right when it came out and stopped
I did 9.1 hours according to steam
