id like to see a political system though one where you vote for like, someone from your neighourhod, who then votes for someone on the block, then someone in town, etc

anyways, the soviets had elections according to article 134 of their constitution
but they used article 141 to supress them
"The right to nominate candidates is secured to public organizations and societies of the working people: Communist Party organizations, trade unions, cooperatives, youth organizations and cultural societies."

who then elected people higher up
but then again, the party nominated the candidates
so there was no actual vote
singe party elections are always kind of weird like this
so it was actually just people being appointed yeah
just like with the pope, there's an "election" being held, and there's campaigning that goes on ahead of time. money influences it, etc.
it just doesn't feel like an election
but it's probably correct to say that they have a lot in common with a democratic election, minus the democracy
