have you guys ever just played mafia?
same but I'm bad at metagaming them
and haven't gotten to play much lately
mafia.gg is a pretty good site
has a bunch of different roles and rule options so you can set it up how you want
it can run classic style stuff but also town-of-salem esque things with more complexity and gameing
it's free?

is there a non-steam version that's free

I haven't played the game but I've seen mang0 playing it so I know how it works

mafia.gg would be better imo
i feel like town of salem is way less good as a pary game compared to classic mafia setups anyway
it has added complexity / game stuff as a necessity to make it work in text-only with randos
that stuff usually needs around a minimum of 7 people though
