versus if you all just stick together the entire time
I think the bean-testicle progress thing was a fun tangible way to do things, and I'm ok with everyone not having the same experience and being able to go back and play again and see puzzles they didn't do before
there's probably a different version of this game that had a pool of 100+ puzzles, that get randomized when the island is created
or a version that ties puzzle completion to the player, and lets you "check-in" to a puzzle with different groups who hadn't done it before
to add more on-paper replayability
but I liked the way they did it, it's lightly replayable with different groups, but there is definitely a cap on any sort of puzzle game, because figuring the puzzles out completely blind is part of the experience
even if you can experience a different part/job of the puzzle on a 2nd attempt
Polu has it
individually I think we all did 25-33% of the island puzzles + the ending
If anyone aside from Polu hosts the game, it will be a new game
underrated appeal of 4 players could be the idea of having to hunt down lost players so you can complete puzzles
full on search parties looking for lost kittens
I assume we need maybe an hour or so to get the true end and the tunnel rave paint achivement, I am fine with doing it either tonight or tomorrow if people want
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 I'm not interested in playing with <4 players, but I am curious how some of the puzzles get scaled down for the 2 or 3-player versions
I've been playing with three, and I haven't seen any 4+ player footage to compare it to, but most of our gameplay so far is trying to locate our third so we can complete a puzzle, most puzzles seem to be "doable" with only two of us present but the third player just speeds it up immensely, it's also frustrating only being able to hold one item so far because using the items in some of the puzzles are very helpful but when we only have three total item slots (and one of our group is insistent on holding a sign the whole time) item usage is severely limited.
yep, packs should by-default swap items if you're holding something when you use it
it's "funny" to lose an item you try to set down in concept, but not when they immediately become impossible to find in the grass

interesting, that's kind of what I was thinking it would be like, trying to find and meet up with lost players
but yeah, probably more limited the less tools you have to carry around
Also, I'm fine with there being text chat, but imo it's hard to imagine that works well with the dynamic of trying to solve puzzles
it's a lot harder to sound out ideas, when typing
multiple people talking through a problem and sort of stumbling into an idea that could work

Some terraria modder got Google dockey'd
it's pretty funny
specifically the pink_interactions folder
this honestly reads as a "other modders didn't like him for unrelated stuff", and found that some person in his public Discord was 15 in 2020
and he was a general Discord gooner
idk I didn't read all of it, maybe there's something actually bad in there
but as always reading people's goonposting is always funny-cringe
