so they're going to be a Fallout Studio

Replying to Garbage #garbageatgaming Didn't Avowed do really bad, why were they working on a sequel?
yeah, I was surprised when they leaked it a few months ago, they were in full dev on it
and Max and I both sorta were speculating how the first game was cut down to get it to release
so it sorta felt like they probably had enough to make an easy-ish sequel
Outer Worlds 2 also did pretty bad (not Avowed levels, but definitely low)
iD got the most fucked it sounds like
and Zenimax fired more than half the ESO team
iD lost literally 100% of their iDtech engine team, 50% staff reduction overall
so the writing on the wall is the next Doom game (if there is one) will probably be in Unreal
the entire move to me, reads like they're just done with gaming, and are making a semi-graceful exit
they're releasing studios with their IPs and full rights to published games
and I don't think it's for earning "nice" points
it'll be gradual, and we'll see if we start getting rumors about wtf they're doing with Project Scarlet, their nextgen xbox
