yeah, I saw it on my TL
Touhou apparently lives on in 2026
Sorry, you must be Filipino or own 3 fumos to be allowed in
Me going to this just to try to talk about touhou 1 with as many people as possible
and then saying I do not like the other games
that 2nd part esp
Nice, I would have objectively been the biggest actual touhou fan there
with 1 game completed (not 1cc'd) and 1 game dropped
That is the boss I suck the most at

That's higher than the leak by a lot
The price leaks were 799 for base 512MB and 1049 for 2TB
I feel like the steam deck is a better value
I still think there were some ways they could have structured it with Steam account funds, to make it more reasonable
Yeah if it was that but you got 250 dollars added to your steam account (that you have to spend with them)
I think that'd be a decent deal
But I get them not wanting to subsidize these and lose $1B on-launch, by just eating the price differences
I also think the value prop of a Steam Machine Lite, that is maybe 200-300 which is just a streaming stick tier device
Would make sense
$1k for this will sell out, but there's not really an audience to recommend it too
If reggie somehow finds an exploit and gets 100 of them for pennies on the dollar, I'll take one Kappaa
I am curious about steam OS
I know it is just a linux fork, but I trust valve to not be as retarded as most linux maintainers
only AMD bothers to release/support consumer drivers on Linux rn
and there's a big change underway since the x11 to Wayland conversion is happening upstream
I come back to this video every once in a while https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYWzMvlj2RQ
Linus Torvalds: Nvidia, Fuck You!
www.youtube.com
I assume it's going to be underwhelming without 1st party support from NV
glad they've finally released the linux .iso though
@ dan.k.meme
@RIBA hey there is a feet modeling software for your feet porn gooning addiction
its on sale apparently
Not tagging you was a strategic move, forcing you to search out the things you truly desire
you could almost say, forcing him to stand on his own 2 feet
You know, we never considered this during our many debates on the topic, but loosing an arm over a leg makes sense if you are a disgusting vile foot fetishist
so +1 points for my team I guess
Valve apparently told IGN (and Spooky's favourite Canadian tech channel) that the original price was upped by about the same ratio as the steam deck price hike, which if you backwards math is about 750 for the base model (matching the rumoured price)
The twitter discourse about the gabecube is funny though
I think people are bad at articulating the core issue:
The performance level of the Steam Cube is not good enough for TV gaming (4K)
How is it for 1080
TVs aren't 1080p
is the issue
My TV is not 4k, I know that
Considered as a standalone PC, the price is actually in-line with the hardware cost, but the price is not reasonable for the target experience you'd want to have. It's in the no-mans-land of computer hardware.
For 1080p it's *fine*, but there's a reason even the Switch 2 focuses on 4K output now
imo the secondary function of it as a Streaming box/media PC with Steam-specific features has a value proposition of ~$300, and then there's the added value of the community around it and it being something you can tinker with
this was always sorta the rub, even when they announced it
it was going to be underpowered, but you can sorta justify it as a low-end console that you intend to use for other things too
I think a higher end cube would make more sense, that's slightly larger and actually has a modern performance baseline
or the lower end cube I suggested before, that's for local streaming and to just run the OS
also, the last datapoint I can find was from 2022, that 92% of TVs sold were 4K or above
and that 80% of households had at least one 4K TV at that point
people usually hold onto old TVs ofc
