I have it from a credible source that you should add a huge slice of that pie dedicated to toushin toshi 2
Rusp when he plays toushin toshi 2 in 100 years - "Wow, they ripped off our game"
Toushin toshi 2 is directly in the Rance timeline
I think the odds of you even playing another Rance game is at like, 2% though so thats probably fair
well, if you get motivated to at some point, you have ~ 1ish years until X comes outs based on good authority
to catch up and join the bookclub
dw, we're sending Rusp to gamer therapy
I think you can only make games if you hate games
it makes sense
undertale is just a tt2 knockoff anyway
truth nuke
I figured we'd get more handheld Steamdeck things, but nothing more than that
Will Polar end up right, or will 86k stay the peak
Replying to Dialga #god_of_time ...why?
Xbox has been so horribly mismanaged over the last decade. The only good thing to come out of it has been Game Pass, which is (was?) very good for the consumer and a dog shit deal for Microsoft themselves. They recently had Phil Spencer leave and a lot speculated the new lady in charge would sunset xbox the console as they try to move to other platforms
I don't really see the value in console competition, versus them just being major publishers and competing H2H that way
(as an obvious non-consolefag)

I would rather give a kid a console than a computer. I've seen the shit my nieces and nephews get up to and they need more restrictions.
Nintendo makes sense, they're selling you a Nintendo machine
xbox and playstation put out 1/10th of the first party content, and just want to be a general purpose media device
there are benefits to fixed hardware for devs... sorta
but they'd be better off outsourcing the entire concept of video game consoles
rather than having 1st party ones

don't worry Polu, California will require full rectal scans for age verification soon
Max had this concept that I've kinda come around to, that we are trending towards just having a sperate kid-internet
network the .edu workspaces that Microsoft/Amazon/Google already curate
and essentially lock devices (school chromebooks) at the point of sale as "kid devices"
I personally don't think kid internet access is a problem if you're a good parent, but seemingly parents WANT this sort of locked-down shitty experience for their kids so... give it to them imo
I think parental controls are a crutch in almost all cases too
I remember kids in high school who still had intrusive internet monitors and the like
pincodes on TVs, screen time managers on phones, etc.
see, good parents
if you don't want to be involved in your kids life and what they're doing, then you can offload some of it to built-in parental controls or these meme age verification things that are getting pushed now
but it's just such a nothing measure to take, and in the end it probably prevents the vast vast minority of kids from gaining access to whatever you're keeping from them anyway
there are plenty of effective ways to gatekeep kids (or whatever demographic you want)
but it's certainly not any of this
