for like 20-ish seconds, it's an indie soulslike
then click through to the store and look at the screenshots
Gaming giant Electronic Arts bought in unprecedented $55bn deal
EA is known for making best-selling games such as EA FC, The Sims and Mass Effect.
web.archive.orgWonder why we did not have that posted and talked about here
thanks Dane
very helpful
as cringe as he is, I'll agree with Mark Kern in a small way
I do think Saudi Arabia is trying to win a cultural victory in a way that is not-terrible
The issue is, I don't think they see value in EA (not even talking profit) other than their sports franchises
I think the Saudi push into gaming is more "I like this and I am fabulously wealthy so I want them to keep doing the thing I like"
but yeah
Pretty sure its just EA sports
that they care about for this one
the Gulf is the sports capital of the world rn
and EA sports has millions of players, across like 15 different franchises
the counter example is Embracer, where the Saudi's walked away and doomed dozens of game franchises and developers
they're big on esports, true
and any prince that has a game they personally like, gets bankrolled like SnK
or Marci in Dota
black people
And others
there are people who buy every single FIFA game every year and all the DLC
There is an entire subset of gamers(tm) where the only game they play is fortnite + fifa (or equivalent sportsball game) and maybe 1 or 2 other games occasionally
unirronically Dialga, it's just Western gacha
and for people who already spend a significant chunk of their free time watching games, betting on games, or playing fantasy sports
EA sports games are comfortable
what bosses did you like?
I've noticed that the more humanoid shaped ones are higher on average
what did he mean by this
do I want to, yes
but I know better lol
Hades 2 is a really good game, idk what my expectations were going in
but I think it's better than the 1st game all-around
it's not *new*
so I think some people will be disappointed with it
But it's the first time I think they really nailed their own genre since Bastion
I will say, it's definitely more fanservice-y (meta fanservice, weirdly restrained in the other kind)
The first game was the classic Greek myths, fun but also meant to be sorta serious and tell an emotional story
2nd game, there's a lot of the narrative I like better, but it loses its charm since it's all make-beleive mythology now
or at least is so obscure it may as well be
and then it doesn't really take itself seriously, compared again to the 1st game
but mechanically and design wise, it is peak progression slop
again, probably as good as they've done since Bastion
