What does it add to the game that I have to spend a resource on the tools? I already have a limited number I can use before resting at a bench again. Theoretically, I could just go grind a few more. Is that what the game wants from me? To go grind?

Also also fun fact: If you start healing when you enter a boss room, the boss cutscene interrupts it, takes your silk, and you don't heal.

Oh, fun crest fact: When you unlock a crest, you have to re-equip all the skills/equipment/tools whatever you were using before. I did not realize this and died to a boss because I had nothing equipped. I don't know why it doesn't default equip everything you previously had equipped.

gosh this boss I'm fighting is mean. It does the whole "explosion" thing upon death where the game like slows down, but then it just appears again a second later. Very rude.

flying enemies that at random drop down slightly while you are mid jump to hit them (so you get hit instead) are the most obnoxious thing I have found so far in this game

Shadow dash in hollow knight was pretty damn far in the game (edited)
Yeah I always forget this. Very annoying because it's like the best ability in the game.

got past the left door above moss grotto with no movement upgrades (edited)
I got the key and, eventually, made my way to the crest as well. Not sure I like it. The really short swings feel like they might be difficult to use in comparison to the larger swings I'm now used to in this game.

I already have enough trouble spacing attacks, so the dinky range of this one was not an option
