Honestly, you fix most of the problems with darksouls like games if you can just super meat boy style instant respawn at the boss fight with no time delay of "you died" followed by some waiting

You get stars on average less than dying to a particular boss in darksouls, but I agree some of them could be shortened

i die less than 100 times in most souls games first time through

The ghosts are easy to bait to a safe place anyway

dying is also not an accomplishment worth fanfare typically, so it serves a different purpose I think

almost like if you fail a task and take zero time to reflect on it you dont learn or take it to heart
