I like how big the 2nd game is, and I liked all of the subgames/minigame mechanics it had

I went back through and actually finished Nine Sols
the game really falls apart in the 2nd half
I had stopped at the 5th boss of 9 when I played the first time, and thought the game was pretty good up to that point
turns out the game peaks at the 4th boss, late game combat and "story" are pretty meh
OST is good
it's Hollow Knight, but built around parrying everything, works for a while but late-game combat REALLY tedious
I'd also say that for a metroidvania, it doesn't do a great job of non-linearity
the game feels more open than it actually is, in terms of progression it's fairly linear even if you can explore small parts of stages in any order

the 3-phase dream fight was where I stopped the first time, meant to get back into it and finish but never did
