I think the open secret at this point, is the higher price (for non-Nintendo games) is to preserve sale value
they need to be able to mark $20-$30 off
and it helps perception when that's 25% off an $80 game
especially since that used to be a thing for pre-orders
$10 off or however they want to do it
I bet we get some pre-order # leaks
and it's <20k
I can't imagine it being any higher, and them needing to do this
When I was in the mall and I walked into the EB games and saw a Switch 2 edition game with a price tag of 110 dollars (Donkey kong is 90 for the record) I laughed
Yeah which is 90 CAD
Just spending a casual 130 dollars on a single switch 2 edition game don't mind me
(with tax)
No game is worth more than about 55 USD, so I disagree fundementally
the issue is, most Nintendo games ($50 via vouchers) weren't worth that to begin with
the shortlist of actual AAA Nintendo games on Switch was 5-10
Can GTA come out so the rope and tape holding back the industry collapse can tear
maybe they keep delaying it because its the only reason there has not been a crash yet
perma delayed
they went back to doing closed Alphas
It will either be shadow dropped to zero fanfare in 6 months to a year, or cancelled I think
AAA Switch exclusives:
Xenoblade (x4)
Smash
FE (x2)
pkmn mainline (x2)
pkmn Legends
Zelda (x2)
3D Mario
pikmin (x2)
Splatoon (x2)
Animal Crossing
Kirby Mainline
Metroid Dread
What am I missing
pikmin
agreed, that puts it up to 15 games
AC, 16
ig I should count Sw/Sh
I hated that game so much
Games that should be classified as AAA
well like, Mario Aces
was a full-price game
that 100% was not a AAA Nintendo game
I think SW/SH and scarlet violet are AAA games, just not very good ones
Replying to Phijkchu_Pikachu #klombak I think SW/SH and scarlet violet are AAA games, just not very good ones
yeah this is my point
yeah, I'll change it to both mainline pokmns
how do people feel about Metroid Drtead
that's not one I've played
agreed, I forgot which one forgotten Land was
was thinking it was the 2D sidescroller at first
AAA Switch exclusives:
2D Mario
3D Mario
Animal Crossing
Fire Emblem (x2)
Kirby Mainline
Metroid
Pikmin (x2)
pkmn Legends
pkmn mainline (x2)
Smash
Splatoon (x2)
Xenoblade (x4)
Zelda (x2)
it's more than I thought, ngl
I would honestly argue 3D kirby is AA
its more of a tech demo for the real 3D kirby to come
I'm sure I'm missing one or two, and some are borderline
I left the FE/Zelda Warriors games out
despite liking those
including both Pikmins feels right to me
Metroid is borderline, but I've not played it
feels about as right as Kirby 3D
Not including the 2D Zelda remakes, pkmn Snap, Mystery Dungeon DX, Paper Mario remake, or Super Mario RPG remake
I like them
but idk, they feel different
