the one I posted was genuinely the best thing they showed
They showed several animal well likes
and a metroidbrania (they trailer explained the term)
which was cringe
I'm watching at high speed
a lot of these devs are actually pretty good
but uh, I think the issue is puzzle game devs
get seed money, don't recoup cost on their good 1st/2nd game, and then their 2nd/3rd games are lower budget and have less scope
since puzzle games basically never pop off

I am not a puzzle game guy per se, I am fine with them, but its not my genre

but that one I can compare to Lennod Jump Game
and LJG might actually be the better product!
I really think it would have been funny to quickly slap out a puzzle game to put on this show
I think you could do a 1 week game jam style thing and make comparable products
If these games took anything more than a month total, they are never going to recoup the cost of making it

My conclusion is it's actually a pretty good game once you get into it
But there are so many QoL things they just didn't fucking bother with that it's kinda weird
Also, they finally subcomed to industry pressure, and fucked up the Steam version of their soundtrack and art book

Im glad its good at least, none of my friends seemed too excited for it even though we had a lot of fun on the ER co-op mod. I decided id rather drop 40 on Deltarune first, if not id play with you
it's also a game that will be 10x better in a couple months
I don't think they'll do most of the QoL stuff I want
but this is FromSoft's baby step towards a sort of live service
and they've talked about doing performance and balance fixes
