Firewatch was the first walking sim that *worked* as a fun game

Yeah I can agree
I think it is possibly the best walking sim I have seen
since then there have been more that built of that formula, but I give them credit for that
Yeah I can agree with that a little
Dude the fact that its 24 bucks is insane though considering the game takes like 3-4 hours
I'm somewhat glad the game wasn't longer (granted I definitely did not finish it in 3 hours)
it's a 2015 game right?
idk how to fix old game pricing
2016
because objectively, the value of a game 10 years old, should lower
but people only buy games on-sale
so it sells at $5-$10 or w/e, which feels right
I think after 5 years half price, then 10% drop every couple years after until 10 or something
yeah but people only buy things that are XX% off
sale price so they can get sales
keep it its total price, but your sale price should be like 95% after 10 years
yeah, I basically agree
I just also think it's one of those unavoidable weirdnesses, where the game is listed for so much, 10 years after release
yeah
But spooky, with inflation that 20 dollars is actually the same as if they sold it as 2 dollars 10 years ago or something
lol
I'm sure you can find some redditor who will argue game prices should increase $1/year or something
I have seen the argument
its usually used as a "it should be like this, so this is why them upping it 20 dollars right now is actually a great deal" kind of argument
but Pika, they added all that amazing free content
clearly they should now raise the price
The Factorio argument
If you are an indie and you up your game price, fuck you
(or any dev, but especially indies)
I wonder how well Steam bundles work to generate sales
I assume straight % discounts are far more effective, but do normal users actually go for the bundles on the store page
that include past/similar games from the same developer/publisher
I somewhat assume it's not that effective at upselling people, but maybe I'm wrong
It is at minimum 80 USD
100 is possible
I imagine special addition is like 120-140
Base edition - $100
Normal edition you're meant to buy - $120
Deluxe edition that's completely pointless - $150
GTA6 has to cost more than the average game, that's important for their brand at this point
and even $100 might not do that, which is why I think they'll anchor it higher
you can't lose to Civ 7 at $130
MHWilds was $110

Bungie's questions on the Marathon exit survey are a bit telling
everything's worded in very careful ways, gives a clear impression that someone there knows all their design decisions are bad
