Replying to legorhin #jazardly we'll see what the mario kart sales are like in a month
Take the sales numbers with a grain of salt though cause a lot of people are buying the bundle instead of the game standalone
Claire also sold really well, and was $40 this month
Dialga, that's the part I don't understand how people miss
everyone who bootlicks these prices, or justifies them with "muh inflation"
Do not restart game dev 2-4 times midway through
there was more profit to be made before at a lower price
that would fix a lot of the profit for AAA games

what if they start making something and it turns out to have too much soul
they can't afford to not restart, and turn it into slop at that point

that's kind of neat, the Elden Ring presets suck but I think there's potential there, Minecraft's are a lot better
and if you can just customize it anyway, that's preferable anyway
I don't think I was ready for the Expedition 33 OST
the entire game essentially has its own score
ik we were talking about it in vc the other day, and I was impressed as hell that the OST was 8-hours long

it was a game of all time
I dislike the characters, I like the concept of the game
what inspired you to play firewatch now?

it was Gents christmas gift for me this year
I liked Firewatch, Campo Santo was a promising developer
they kinda got caught up in their own hype though, fed their egos too much
I think if I did not find both of the protagonists detestable and annoying, I would have liked it more
The opening bit building the life up to the skitzo moment was very funny though
Game bugged and warped me into a place where I was stuck when I tried to cut down a tree near the end and I had to redo a few minutes of gameplay after spending 5 trying to get unstuck
Firewatch was the first walking sim that *worked* as a fun game
Yeah I can agree
I think it is possibly the best walking sim I have seen
since then there have been more that built of that formula, but I give them credit for that

Dude the fact that its 24 bucks is insane though considering the game takes like 3-4 hours
I'm somewhat glad the game wasn't longer (granted I definitely did not finish it in 3 hours)

because objectively, the value of a game 10 years old, should lower
but people only buy games on-sale
so it sells at $5-$10 or w/e, which feels right
I think after 5 years half price, then 10% drop every couple years after until 10 or something
yeah but people only buy things that are XX% off
sale price so they can get sales
keep it its total price, but your sale price should be like 95% after 10 years

I just also think it's one of those unavoidable weirdnesses, where the game is listed for so much, 10 years after release

its usually used as a "it should be like this, so this is why them upping it 20 dollars right now is actually a great deal" kind of argument
but Pika, they added all that amazing free content
clearly they should now raise the price
