I put the odds of Marathon making it a year fairly low
I don't think it fails hard enough to be shutdown or anything
but they'll extend seasons and put it in maintenance mode after 12 months imo
Replying to Spooky Phijkchu #spooky.131 Regi, they had the lead gameplay designer go on a stream with a woman yesterday and she gave some very light feedback, and the dev nearly broke down

Unrelated to that, finished Enderlilies
I do not like dark souls metroidvanias (this is the first one I've played). Atmosphere is good, music is the reason I played it in the first place and did not disappoint.
Overall I enjoyed it as evident by bothering to 100% it
I put it in the top of my B tier for games I played this year
If it ever goes on sale for a reasonable price I'll consider trying the sequel
no rush on my end though
Replying to TinyBomby #tinybomby The sequel unfortunately isn't as good. It's very short and I thought it was enjoyable for its length, but it didn't catch me as much as Ender Lilies.
I 100% agree about the sequel being a letdown
I had to go back to Ender Lillies and confirm what felt off about it
the entire 2nd game is one big tutorial, and then the game ends
they had a couple ideas that they didn't expand on really
game just felt really confused, not sure the devs even knew why there were making it
it's not *bad* it was just kinda plain and simple
and was a weird way to follow-up the 1st game

My actual thoughts are "how the fuck is the game this empty and unfun"

but I really can't see what they were going for
you NEED a squad of 3 people to even sorta enjoy the game currently,
and nothing about the loot, PvE, or meta progression is fun
it's "high" when you have shields
the shield dif is honestly way too high
you get a 2x to your health pool with good shields
that's so bad

them targeting Chinese netcafe PC specs is an L
It needs a 12-month delay to have a chance
even F2P won't save it on-launch, and honestly might make it worse
they moved earlier, which is a win
eh, I think F2P is needed for most games that want to push MP
Helldivers co-op PvE works at $40
but Marathons PvE is really lacking
