I don't know how Bungie hopes to earn money on this
I think it will be good, ideally better than Finals/Heyenas
but I just don't see this being the BIG thing
though granted, I thought that about Apex too, since it's a heavily mid game
but after a few years, they spent their way into relevence

my concept for what would make a good extraction game includes that
I think there are a lot of different way to get there, and I agree
my current thought is a lot of that comes down to map design
you can have lots of meta systems as well, if you want to make it more of a game mechanic
Division 2 game up way too early
but their Darkzone concept was ok
I assumed Marathon was going to be F2P, if it's not
I'm surprised
if it's F2P with paid early access, I think that'll hurt it
if it's paid idk, I think they'll need to show off A LOT
to prove that its worth it
because the hype is mostly "huh, yeah I want to try a Bungie game"
which doesn't work for a paid game
My prediction is it's paid early access, at two tiers of $20/$40 (with bonus cosmetics or w/e), and then the v1.0 full release will be f2p
and I think that will hurt it

and just noped
the meta stuff matters
even the most fun shooter needs some sort of reason to play, or it'll lose people
if it's full Fortnite season Battle pass BS, that's one approach
but even something as simple as first-win-of-the-day and a player level/prestiege
will keep people engaged
I think Bungie isn't doing a great job on their marketing either
they've been silent for so long, and then out of nowhere kick this off, without having a bunch of streamers/YouTubers actually playing the game
or doing some closed-access tournament where they invite Destiny 2 pros to have an exhibition match
drop a release date 5 months away, "closed" alpha test in a couple days
idk, I think they could have done better
